Roger Chouinard was born and raised in southern California and attended Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles. He started his career working for various design and film productions studios before co-founding the award winning DUCK Studios Animation Company that he co-owns with his wife and business partner Mariko.
Over the years his career has included work as an Illustrator, set designer, animation director and designer, writer and illustrator of children’s books and sculptor of outdoor exhibits. His commercial animations clients have included Levi’s, Verizon, McDonalds, Nestlé, General Motors, Disney and Target.
His illustration work has appeared in The L.A. Times, The New York Times, Forbes, The Washington Post, illustration annuals and other publications. His awards include the N.Y. Art Directors Gold Medal, the CA Award of Excellence and several Clios.
Chouinard currently divides his time between Duck Studios and working in his studio at home in Topanga, California.
